I turned and saw a red laughing face and later heard the creaking sound of my iron board and that's when i realised what's happened.

both the NTUC trolley and iron board are kept in the storeroom. so when she open the storeroom door, she took the iron board and went out of the house. it's only when the 'trolley' can't be opened when she realised her mistake

as of why I knew what's happening as soon as I hear the creaking sound- that's because it'd happened before .!
